Healthy dog treats, baked with a purpose.
Our story
Doggie Barks is a neurodiverse-owned dog treat bakery.
We make all-natural treats using spent grains donated by local breweries, combined with simple ingredients like peanut butter or pumpkin, eggs, and flour.
Every batch is baked with care, and every purchase helps give back — a portion of our profits is donated to organizations that support neurodiverse young adults.
Sustainable, local ingredients
Doggie Barks are made from spent grains donated in partnership with local breweries.
What are spent grains? The first step in the brewing process is soaking barley, wheat, rye, corn or rice in hot water. The liquid is drained and is then moved to the next step in the beer brewing process. The wet mash that remains is called “spent grains” and is no longer needed in the beer brewing process. Spent grains are high in fiber, low in sugar, contain protein and nutrients and are often used as livestock feed or compost.
There is no alcohol in spent grain. The alcohol is produced later during fermentation after the spent grain has been removed.
We combine spent grains with peanut butter or pumpkin, eggs and flour to make our delicious Doggie Barks treats.
Power and purpose in every treat
Doggie Barks is a neurodiverse artisan-owned business.
Every treat is handmade with love in Deep River, Connecticut. A percentage of all profits is donated to organizations supporting neurodiverse young adults.
